A New York City Sheriff’s Office spokesperson revealed apart from refusing to pay child support, DMX was also detained for several outstanding issues including bail jumping in different county.
The rapper was then detained for the child support claims as he was about to perform on stage at the Masters of Ceremony concert, ‘”As soon as he stepped out of his vehicle, they grabbed him and drove off with him,” said one of the sources in the outlet.
Reggae artist, Shaggy also confirmed the news via twitter, “It comes with sadness and regret. But Dmx will not be attending this year #shaggfest. — he got locked up today for 6 months,” he wrote.
His representatives have been unavailable for comment.
