Diarrhoea Kills 30 Children In Imo




About 30 children have been killed following a fresh outbreak of diarrhoea in Imo State.  According to a post on the Imo State Government Blog, the administration disclosed that diarrhoea is relatively common in remote areas of the state.

“Diarrhoea is relatively common in remote areas of the state, where potable water is often scarce and residents frequently rely on water from unwholesome sources,” the government explained.

According to the state Commissioner for Health, Mrs. Ngozi Njoku, the death toll from the latest outbreak had risen to 30 in the last few weeks. She further said several other children are also receiving treatments in various hospitals in the state. She finally disclosed that 65 suspected cases have also been reported
