Spaces The Future Of Google?

Hello guys, hope y'all are having a smooth afternoon? Anyways, i have something special for you all to read this afternoon. Some days back google launched a new application called  Spaces and from my observation no blogger's has reported about it, so i decided to bring it here for you all.
However, at my place of work, i was assigned to write a blog review about the new application which i did and the spirit within  me has decided to share it with you all. I'm nice abi? lol Article written by yours truly *wink*

Google is obviously not backing out from social media. It's quite obvious that the biggest phenomenon on the internet right now is the social media - platforms that are big enough to be considered bigger (or in more precise terms, more populated) than many countries of the world. Having such large user bases have made a number of these social media platforms some of the most valuable companies on earth. I mean, Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat are testimonies.

Google, the one-time undisputed web champion launched Google+ to compete on the social media but so far, it hasn't been so impressive. We suppose the failure of google+ has prompted Google to launch another social media platform. They call it SPACES.
This article is about Google’s Spaces and not about the history of social media, so permit me to discuss Spaces more specifically.

                           LESS IS MORE
The first thing you would notice about Spaces, that is if you install and try using it, is that it is designed to allow a small group or network of people communicate about whatsoever topic that interests them, in any format they choose. We mean you could communicate in text, photos, videos, loops, etc. (We guess these formats are becoming the new languages of the social media).
Spaces is just about you and your select few who are on your '"space" to talk about your subject, whatever it is. Now its application transcends student groups tackling a professor’s assignment to a small start-up discussing marketing and advertising.

 VIDEOS, IMAGES, WEBLINK, ANY FORMAT.
Unlike other platforms that are quite clumsy in integrating different formats and files, Spaces allows users to discuss in images, videos, web link, loops, etc. We love twitter but 140 characters is a limitation. Instagram is built for images, so sharing and opening links is quite difficult. As for Spaces it allows users to communicate via text, images, videos and links can be easily accessed

CHROME, YOUTUBE AND GOOGLE SEARCH BUILT IN
The icing on the cake, Spaces comes with these complimentary features. We don't need to explain the utility of these features, it’s just comforting to know that you can use these features on your space without leaving or exiting the app to YouTube a video. You can do this while on your space "without missing a beat"
That being said about the features, there are a host of criticisms for Spaces and Google from the tech community. First it is said that hundreds of platforms like this already exist, why must google spend its time building another one? Another observer is of the opinion that why won’t Google just stick to what it knows best and what works for it- web search? Besides Google has not yet given me a reason to abandon WhatsApp group chat for spaces- now this comment got us, but who are we to say?
With over a thousand downloads on Play Store in 24 hours, it’s no doubt

a slow start for spaces but only time will tell if it will gain traction and momentum over time, probably enough momentum to give Facebook a good run or it will be yet another futile attempt by Google to get a slice of the social media- only time will tell!
