Armed Robbery: 3 Napep Drivers Narrowly Escape Death In Imo











































































































































Thee notorious armed robbers escaped being lynched in Owerri, the Imo State capital on Wednesday
 after officers of the Special Anti-robbery Squad of the state police command rescued them from a mob.

Eyewitnesses told our correspondent that the three-man armed robbery gang specialised in robbing unsuspecting residents of the state capital in their tricycle popularly known as keke.

According to the sources, while one of them rode the tricycle two of the gang members posed as passengers waiting to rob any passenger who entered the tricycle.

He said the gang was nabbed when they were robbing a young lady who had boarded their tricycle at Orji, near Imo State university, Junction.

“They were robbing the young lady who entered their keke at gunpoint. They are notorious in the act. They have robbed hundreds of people in Owerri with their keke method. The incensed people were about setting them ablaze when the police intervened,” one of the eyewitnesses told our correspondent at the scene of the crime.

When our correspondent arrived the scene of the incident, the suspects who were in a police van were naked with various degrees of injuries apparently inflicted on them by the mob.

Our correspondent learnt that they were taken to the state police command where they and their tricycle were being held.
